Why People Love East Lake Family Dental
What Are Facial Esthetic & TMJ Injections?

Targeted Relief
We treat the exact muscles causing your pain or lines, rather than relying only on daily pills or creams. This focused approach often brings more noticeable relief and visible changes.
Non-surgical Solution
There is no surgery, no stitches, and no hospital stay. Most patients go right back to normal activities after their visit.

Quick Visits
Most appointments take about 15–30 minutes. You can often fit treatment into a lunch break or between errands.
Natural-looking Results
We use conservative doses and precise placement to keep your expressions natural. Friends may notice you look more rested, but not “overdone.”

We Take Your Insurance
Our office works with most major PPO insurance plans. We’ll verify your benefits and estimate costs before you come in. Please note that at this time, we do not accept HMO or Medicaid.
Relief For TMJ Pain and Jaw Tension
If your jaw feels sore, tight, or tired, everyday tasks can be frustrating.
You might avoid certain foods, wake up with headaches, or notice that your jaw clicks or pops.
TMJ-focused injections can help:
- Relax overworked jaw muscles
- Reduce clenching and grinding
- Ease pain in the jaw, temples, and sides of the face
- Lower the frequency of tension headaches related to jaw strain
We start by understanding your symptoms, habits, and bite. Then we target the muscles that are doing too much work, so your jaw can move more comfortably.

A Smoother, More Rested Look
Facial esthetic injections can also soften lines that make you look tired or stressed, even when you feel fine.
We focus on natural, balanced results — you still look like yourself, just more rested.
Common areas we treat include:
- Forehead lines
- Lines between the eyebrows (“11” lines)
- Crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes
Our goal is not to change how you look, but to gently refresh your appearance so your face matches how you feel.

Are These Injections Right For You?
You may be a good candidate for TMJ-focused injections if:
- You wake up with jaw pain or headaches
- You clench or grind your teeth, especially at night
- Your jaw feels tight, stiff, or tired
- You hear clicking or popping when you open or close your mouth
You may be a good candidate for facial esthetic injections if:
- You want to soften lines on your forehead, between your brows, or around your eyes
- You want a subtle, refreshed look rather than a major change
- You prefer a non-surgical option with little to no downtime
During your visit, we review your health history, examine your bite and facial muscles, and talk about your goals. Together, we decide whether injections are a good fit or if another approach makes more sense.

Honest Answers, Upfront Pricing
What to Expect During Your Injection Treatment
Consultation
We start with a conversation about your symptoms and what you want to change. Your doctor will examine your jaw movement, bite, and facial muscles and may recommend photos or imaging if needed.
We explain where we would place injections, what results you can expect, how long they typically last, and pricing. You will have time to ask questions before you choose to move forward.
Treatment
On treatment day, we clean the area and may use a topical numbing gel. The injections are done with a very small needle and usually take just a few minutes.
Most patients describe the feeling as small pinches rather than true pain. You can relax with blankets, music, or TV while we work.
Aftercare And Results
You can usually return to normal activities right away. We may ask you to avoid rubbing the area or doing intense exercise for the rest of the day.
For TMJ injections, many patients feel gradual relief over several days as muscles relax. For esthetic injections, smoother lines typically become more noticeable over about 1–2 weeks.
We can schedule follow-ups to check your results and plan maintenance visits if you’d like to keep your improvements long term.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are cosmetic facial injections safe?
When performed by trained providers with the right products and technique, cosmetic injections have a strong safety record. Our team follows strict protocols and uses only reputable products. We review your health history in advance and make sure you are a good candidate before we begin.
Will I look “frozen” after facial esthetic injections?
No — our goal is a natural, relaxed look. We use conservative doses and focus on softening specific lines while keeping your normal expressions. You should still look like yourself, just a bit smoother and more rested.
Are cosmetic facial injections painful?
Cosmetic injections are usually very quick and feel like small pinches or tiny stings. The needles are fine, and most people tolerate the treatment well. If you are worried about discomfort, we can use numbing and take our time to keep you comfortable.
How long do cosmetic facial injections last?
Most patients notice smoother lines for about three to four months, though results vary by person and treatment area. With regular visits, some patients feel their results last a bit longer over time. We’ll help you plan a schedule that matches your goals and lifestyle.
Are TMJ injections safe?
When done by trained providers who understand jaw and facial anatomy, TMJ injections have an excellent safety record. Our doctors have specific training and experience with therapeutic use. We always review your medical history first to make sure this option is appropriate for you.
Can TMJ injections replace a nightguard for grinding?
TMJ-focused injections can greatly reduce clenching and grinding for many patients, especially at night. In some cases, we still recommend a nightguard to protect your teeth, fillings, and crowns from wear. Your doctor will let you know whether injections, a nightguard, or a combination is best for your situation.
Are TMJ injections painful?
Most patients feel only brief pinches or mild pressure during TMJ injections. The needles are very small, and appointments are short. If you feel anxious about discomfort, let us know — we can use numbing and move slowly to help you stay at ease.
How long do TMJ injections last?
Most patients feel relief for about three to four months, but this can vary from person to person. TMJ-related comfort often feels strongest in the first few months and can be maintained with touch-up visits. During your consultation, we’ll talk about what timing is realistic for you and how often you may want treatment.
